Polaroids of the ABA

Cheerleaders in hot-shorts and go-go boots were ABA staples...

...It was much easier defending a shot in nuthuggers and full length socks...

...Dr. J wore knee pads because when he would go up to dunk on some one's ass he didn't want his knees to hit the cat in the face...

...You will never see this many white guys on the court in a current NBA action photo...

... New Yorks' #22 here would eventually score on the Colonels' #2 for three reasons - higher socks, tighter shorts and larger afro...

...Looking like Ike Turner earned this player for Utah many ABA accolades...

...In this photo he actually passed the ball to his own afro, said afro proceeded to score 32 points, snag 14 boards and block 4 shots to earn game MVP honors...

...He was able to pass this white guy with average-for-the-70's length hair by threatening to beat him like Tina...

...Implementing his patented "I'll guard you behind the back as I skip" defense cost this player his starting position and later his roster spot...

...This brother for the Pacers obviously worked out a little more than the "Iceman"...

...The rarest of rare photos...a white guy guarding another white guy on a basketball court of any kind, anywhere, ever.
